Day 31

Son got injured in an accident and spent time in ICU in hospital. He has now recovered consciousness and is making good progress. Just as he started waking up, the nurse suggested I take some photos to show him how serious it all was so he could learn from this experience to be more careful. So I did. I edited him out of this photo. This is a view from the ICU:

Day 29

A peaceful sunset at the end of this very hot day (44.3 degrees C) Reflection of the sunset

At work I took a picture of my desk. It is still quite neat and tidy as I haven't fully moved in yet.

Day 28

On the way home from work I stopped to take a photo of this magnificent view. I met this fisheries officer (not visible in the blog view of the photo, click on the photo to see the whole picture) who was checking to see if any were poaching abalone:

During the day I took a photo of Mel and I in our new office. I think we will be very happy here:

Day 26

A beautiful day for the last day of the summer holidays. Here is some of the productivity of the garden:

And a symbol of summer: bare brown feet:

Day 25

Near my place I saw this scene of cattle seeking shade under some eucalypts. You would never know I live in a mostly built up urban area. It reminded me of a painting by Hans Heysen (or maybe someone else). Here it is:

Earlier I took this photo in the garden at my mum's place. She is a real gardener.

Day 24

The other day Alex Ragone asked on Twitter if people could send a postcard to the first graders at his school, as they were studying the postoffice: "Our first graders are studying the post office -- Send them a postcard - especially if you're outside the US. DM Me for address." So I did:

Day 20

Took a walk this evening and this scene caught my eye. I liked the contrasts in this. It is the carpark of our local shopping centre:

Earlier in the day, I had lunch with my oldest friend, Liz. We have been friends for 43 years:

After we had had lunch we went window shopping. We ended up in this bookshp where I took this photo, much to the puzzlement of the salesperson:

Day 11

Today I went on a bushwalk with the walking club that Bob belongs to. My sister Carmel came too. It was a perfect day for walking. We did the Mt Sugarloaf walk at Kinglake.

Day 10

Reading the Saturday papers I got to wondering: Will I see this this movie?

will I see this movie?

Today was the day we had to get the hard rubbish out for collection. The old chookhouse, no longer needed now that we have a swish new one, was dismantled:

Day 8

I had my eyes tested for the first time in 5 years. I wear glasses reluctantly for astigmatism, and now I'll have to wear them more often. I also need reading glasses. I tried multifocals but they just didn't work for me, so now I have 2 pairs.

Later I went to the travel agent to pick up my tickets for NECC09 in Washington DC. I am so excited:

Day 7

For the 2009/365 I took this photo of my son, Kieran. He doesn't usually like his photo taken but today he didn't mind.
